Who are Panache Jewellers
Panache Jewellers is a premium retailer of high-value watches in the heart of Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter.
Located on Warstone Lane, it is one of more than 500 jewellery businesses that trade in the Quarter – a designated conservation area where 40% of all the UK’s jewellery is made.
A small, yet chic store, it is part of the Midland Watch Traders family, which now specialises in high- value designer watches, including Rolex, Cartier, and Breitling. Panache has been at its current premises for more than three years.
Panache wanted to increase its security features to ensure the safety of both staff and customers. However, maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the store was also vital – it had to maintain the look and feel of an inviting shop for its discerning clientele.
When Warrior Doors first visited Panache, it had a standard door and display windows that could easily be breached by intruders, something that company owners James and Nick wanted to rectify as a matter of urgency – particularly after a string of burglaries were reported in the Quarter.
After an initial visit and inspection, Warrior Doors recommended its unique and easy-to-use interlocking sliding door system, which gives staff two chances to assess customers before entry. It does this by preventing both doors from being opened at the same time.
Warrior Doors recommended its sliding door and internal hinged door, with side panels – all of which are fully glazed with added premium stainless steel, high-security fixings and a high-security, single-point locking system with integrated access control.
After visiting the factory, James and Nick were instantly impressed with the level of expertise and design that goes into the development of a Warrior Door and had no hesitation in appointing us to undertake the Panache brief.
Gemma Heighway, manager of Panache, said the team is thrilled with both the aesthetic appeal of the fully glazed doors and with the heightened level of security that they now have.
The extra security does not, however, impact on the customer experience. This is because the main front door on to the street remains open, enabling customers to enter the lobby at any time. Only then does it close, so that the customer is held safely for a short time in the lobby before being buzzed through by Panache staff.
At the rear of the shop, Warrior Doors advised that it should install a high-security door that provides maximum protection from an evening or daytime attack.
